The V&A Waterfront is a working harbour with Table Mountain rising behind it, and there's a lot to see in a small area.
Zeitz MOCAA, housed in a converted grain silo, is the world's largest museum of contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. The Two Oceans Aquarium has exhibits made just for children. Try to ride the Big Wheel near sunset, when you get views of Table Mountain and Lion's Head.
Wander a little further and you'll find the historic Clock Tower, the Robben Island Gateway, harbour and canal cruises, the Time Out Market, and restaurants and craft stalls along the quayside.
Give yourself at least a couple of hours, or a full day if you plan to visit both the museum and the aquarium. City traffic can be slow, so leaving early helps.
