Strand Beach

Strand Beach is the town's top-rated attraction, and it's easy to see why: a long stretch of soft white sand and gentle, swimmable waves on False Bay.

Families, walkers, surfers, cyclists and anglers all end up here, and outside summer weekends there's usually plenty of room to spread out.

Stay for sunset if you can. A handful of beachfront restaurants make it easy to slide from an afternoon swim straight into dinner.

From Green Gables it's about five minutes on foot, so you can pop down for an hour or spend the whole day.
