Triggerfish has been brewing in Somerset West since 2010, which makes it the second-oldest craft brewery in the greater Cape Town area. Its taproom is at Paardevlei, on W.R. Quinan Boulevard, and there are more than twenty beers to choose from, including IPAs, ales and stouts.
There's a kitchen for proper meals alongside the beer, live music and events, and a happy hour in the late afternoon. The mood is relaxed and sociable.
The taproom is open six days a week and closed on Mondays. Sunday hours are shorter, and that's when the Triggerfish Market sets up on site. The kitchen keeps slightly shorter days than the bar, so check the hours before you go.
It's one of the closest places on this list to Green Gables, which makes it an easy way to end a day at the beach or in the Winelands.
